WS: Red Ribbon Chocolate Mousse Cake

For my Weekend Snapshot entry here, I wanna share just a few photos of the Red Ribbon chocolate mousse cake that we bought for my niece Marian Roselle who graduated from grade school as Third Honorable Mention of their graduating class. She also got other awards like Most Thoughtful and Dancer of the Year. This cake was sponsored by my sister who is in UK as her graduation gift to our niece. This chocolate mouse cake from Red Ribbon is also my favorite. That is why this is the one hubby and I bought. lol

Happy WS and have a great week ahead everyone!!!

Nice One

I found a nice looking mattress at bed in a box which I love. I was looking last week for a new one for our bed. This one shown here is the one I would love to have. It has terry cloth waterproof cover and it has a fire resistant inner cover. Plus you have an optional luxurious goose down mattress cover. They give 120 days in home trial with a 10 year full warranty so there is not much to worry. They have free shipping within the US.

Beach Getaway

It is summer time and the time where most people head to some cool and great beach getaway. We would have wanted to go to Bohol this summer with CT while we are hoping that there might be some cheap flights even during the peak of the summer vacation here. Or probably to one of the best summer destinations in the country - Bora!

Beach Wear

Summer time is time for most of us here to go to the beach and enjoy the waves and the sun. I heard my eldest nephew talking to his sister that he wants to ask his mom to buy him a boardshorts. I asked him what is that? Well I found out that it is a kind of shorts for the beach that is longer than the usual shorts and usually worn by men. It likely originates from their affiliation with aquatic sports that use a board, such as surfing. They are often called "boardies" in slang especially in Australia. Well that seems to be my word for the day. Though I admit I have often seen this kind of shorts that are usually made of bathing suit like material. I was also thinking of buying hubby that one of these days and we might just have a chance to go to the beach this summer. I would like to go to Pearl Farm but even Paradise would be good enough. I miss having lunch there.

Building Up Muscles

We watched Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition Plus last night and we saw hottie Ejay of Mindoro and another house mate doing some exercise and building their muscles with a strength equipment which has free motion technology used these days. Durable and nice looking equipments. Am sure it will really help them build those muscles. Well I think if they want to be called a hunk in show business or just have those nice looking muscles for girls to admire them more well they have to keep their body fit and train right inside the house.

It's Been Raining

It has been raining since yesterday. Hope in the morning the sun will rise and shine as I have laundry to do. It was good yesterday as the rain have shoved away the heat of the summer sun. Yup it is already summer in here. We have noticed it has become hotter these days, especially last Good Friday. The rain that started yesterday I think will not stop soon. But I am praying this will let up by morning so I won't get wet outside. I can't work well too if it's cold outside and raining. I don't wanna get sick too. I have to take care of CT and don't want him to get sick too.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Some relationships are meant to last forever.
2. Side A is the last concert I saw; it was about two years ago.
3. Spring should be the best season of the year.
4. Oh no! I forgot to give CT's medicine this afternoon!
5. I've recently started putting plugins in my domain blog here.
6. My baby CT never fails to make me smile.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to blogging after CT sleeps, tomorrow my plans include doing the laundry and Sunday, I want to go out with hubby and baby CT!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Enjoy the weekend ahead. :)

Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition Plus Season 2

Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition Plus Season 2 has started last March 23, 2008. And three (3) lucky teens from Davao got in Kuya's house including the deaf beauty titlist from Ateneo de Davao University who won first runner-up in the Miss Teen Philippines. We have another reality TV show to follow everyday. In time for the start of the summer vacation, I know it would be a daily evening bonding for most of us here who watch in the house.

Thinking of the Future

Anyone who does have dreams for his or her future in the point of view of being a parent would consider starting to find other ways and means of investing for their child's future. Or simply any person who is a wise investor. The rich of the richest probably would consider investing in gold or silver in pure bullion. There is Monex Deposit Co. or MDC for those who wanna invest in those. Options for convenience of those investing would be in a form of gold or silver in coins or ingots. It would be a different experience for me to be able to invest in such kind. But I have read that now is the best time to invest in it as the price in world market is going down. Thinking of the future how I wish I can invest in this.

Happy Graduation Ate Marian

I wanna greet my niece Marian who graduated from grade school as the 3rd Honorable Mention in the graduating class of their school this morning. She also received the awards for Most Thoughtful, Most Obedient and Dancer of the Year. Last year when my nephew graduated from the same school, did I learn that they have so many extra awards given. We call it the "Most-Most" awards because they are far too many awards with too many recipients as in awards galore. Well I guess it is their way of recognizing students' efforts, talents and hardwork. Anyway, again congrats to my niece Marian! :)

CD-R King Refused to Issue an Official Receipt

For the first time, I had a bad or should I say had an annoying experience with CD-R King SM City Branch as they refused to issue an Official Receipt when we asked them to. As far as I know any establishment should never do that. They must issue an Official Receipt even without the need of demand from the customer especially when they receive cash/money from the customer. I would not make it an issue but I can not understand the store policy and the way it was explained to us. (read more...)

Summer Time, Play Time

It is indeed summer time and play time as school has ended in most school here already. My nephews have been bugging my hubby and dad if they can get those swing sets right here at home which they usually find in the park and playground. My dad said he will think about it but the kids are really persistent. Their mom is just concerned that they might need more supervision when they are playing. Well what would stop kids from having a great time this summer. :)

WS: Where Are You Going

It has been a devotion for me and hubby to attend the Way of the Cross in our parish for many years now during Good Friday. Anyway, we were able to join in this station of the cross and the procession was approaching us nearer with this man, one of the lay ministers who volunteered to carry the cross to this station as shown in the photo below. Just when he was a few feet away only from the station, suddenly we saw him turning left instead of going just straight ahead where the people were going. You can see a fellow lay minister running towards him to tell him not to go that way.

I know this is supposed to be serious no laughing matter but I just wanna share this light moment during the procession. The sacristans (in red) were all smiling and even the man himself was smiling realizing what he had done until he let down the cross at the station and passed it on to the next volunteer. I don't know his name but I see him so often at the church serving as a lay minister. He seems to be a very kind man and I know he won't be offended instead he will smile again when he reminisces this moment.

Online Games Portal

I got curious where my nephew gets all these games he plays on our PC as I don't recall my hubby ever installing such. Well MJ said that he got it from this new online games portal which features browser-based strategy war game. They are mostly multiplayer online games which I think kids and teens are so addicted to these days especially this summer vacation which already started. My nephew TJ keeps bugging his brother to let him play that racing game that he just discovered and he really liked a lot. Do you know that they stay up late at night lately because of these games? As late as 1:00 in the morning? That's why their mom had asked me to control their playing time and they now have a curfew. Anyway, it's summer and I have been a kid once and I know that this is the time to make up for those restrictions during school days.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Life is so exciting!
2. Strawberry fields are delicious to look at.
3. Peanut Butter Crunch with Caramel ice cream sounds like it would taste delicious!
4. Why does spending very precious and happy moments with CT and hubby make me feel so good?!
5. Heaven is something I've always wanted to see.
6. It's sad when anyone in the family is sick or has a problem.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spending quality time with CT and hubby, tomorrow my plans include washing clothes and doing house chores and Sunday, I want to attend the early Easter Sunday Mass with CT and hubby!

Have a meaningful Good Friday and advance Happy Easter Sunday everyone!!!

Uncommonly Cute Baby Clothes

I admit that sometimes I find it hard to buy clothes for CT which I really like. The stores here in our place mostly only have those common designs and same prints with the baby clothes that they sell which you often see worn by many babies that we meet and see anywhere here. I would love to shop for CT with baby clothes which are hip and trendy because our baby is way beyond cute and deserve the best. I know most mothers feel like this.

My friend who is based abroad and is a mommy herself to her two lovely babies has told me about this hip and cool toddler, infant, newborn and baby clothes inspired by trendy babies from all over the world from Uncommonly Cute which is made in New York. They have baby clothes that goes beyond the usual ideas, designs and styles of clothes for babies that you normally find in department stores. I know their designs also come in handy when you wan to look for the perfect gifts for friends who are having their own baby shower or most important hip and cool baby clothes for our very cute and lovable baby.

What I like about the baby clothes from Uncommonly Cute which makes you precious little one look like a rock star, diva, or fashionista, is that the material they used is made of 100% combed cotton and is really super soft as what my friend had told me for she had shopped online already from them. No need to worry to keep the clothes look like brand new since they are durable. They can be machined wash too so no hassle for those who does not want to handwash their baby's clothes. I have to tell hubby that we must shop online from Uncommonly Cute as we both want to give CT sometimes the best even in clothes if not always.

To Wash Or Not To Wash

It is Good Friday today and we just had a long walk early this morning with H when we joined this year's Way of the Cross in our parish. We have made this as our devotion and sacrifice every Good Friday for a few years now even before H and I were married. So tired yet from the long walk yet our clothes to be washed had piled up in the past few days, I was trying to decide if I will wash them today or not since mom said we should at least respect that it is Good Friday. Before we usually just stay at home and rest and almost do nothing much during these days in the Holy Week. But I guess being a full time mom now makes me more busy with the chores at home almost all the time. There are more tasks and stuff to do and it seems endless. Well for now maybe I would just postpone it until tomorrow morning. For now it might be better to take a nap or maybe do some little hopping and see what's good in store online.

Going Out

Most of my friends are going out of town during the Holy Week. A friend of mine and her officemates are planning to go to Camiguin through a land trip and they will be using one of their officemates new car but is is actually a second hand car bought by the dad for her. She is quite new to driving and I told my friend to make sure that they have someone drive for them who is really good at driving considering it is quite a long, long drive. I also asked her if the car was already insured otherwise they can tell their officemate to check auto insurance online and can get one before they take that long but most probably enjoyable trip to Camiguin.

Hey it makes me remember how I love that place especially the White Island. Maybe when CT is older and good enough to travel with us by land then maybe we can go there for a vacation.

Eye Catching

I was watching news on TV and I am amazed at those eye catching digital signage used by so many establishments these days especially in business and commercial districts in places around the world in order to promote their products and services. These signages I saw in New York Times Square are so colorful and inviting especially those storefront displays that draw in passersby and turn browsers into buyers. You can see a lot of those too in Las Vegas.

Advance Bday Gift? :)

My sis in UK called our mom and they talked for quite sometime. I went to the kitchen while waiting for them to finish so I could talk to her too. It has been quite awhile since we last talked over the phone. I was going to kid her by giving her a hint that if maybe she wants to give me something for my birthday she may want to check out this Technomarine watch that I saw. The watch features a unique modern techno look and that cool blue color perfect for beach outing this summer! Sis what do you think? :)

WS #11: Tigger Bathroom Slippers from EQ Diapers

Weekend Snapshot

I will take a break from my usual food trip entries. This weekend we got to try out the orange Tigger bathroom slippers that were sent to us through LBC from EQ Diapers. We found it among our belongings after we made a partial general cleaning in the room as we bought a new wooden cabinet at SM. So CT upon wearing the slippers made him so happy to walk around and he was all smiles. CT now, 1 year and 2 months yesterday, can walk around more on his own but we still walk behind him ready to catch him in case he slips/trips and falls. He wants his growing independence as shown when he is obviously so happy when he can walk on his own without us holding him or his shirt. Happy WS and have a great week ahead everyone! :)

Insure Your Health

As much as we do not want to be sick and want to live a healthy life, it is still but important to make sure that we have our own individual health insurance so that when there are health emergencies involving a family member or a loved one we need not worry too much. Before choosing which one you would take, you can choose to receive free quotes from some of the best health insurance companies in the country. You will find information on coverage levels, cost, and much more which is included in your free quote. It is always easier to receive quotes from one service provider than to speak with each company separately to make things more simple.

Clean Up Your Colon

With us going on a food trip more often now and trying out more food than I could take sometimes, it makes me think too of what effect it has on my body. I think people shouls also be concerned of cleansing their body and revitalizing their health. There is a colon cleanser than can cleanse and flush out dangerous toxins from your body which will help promote a healthy immune system which is really important so that we can live longer to have more food trips with hubby and hopefully soon with CT along with us. So they say eat but be healthy so than you can live bad longer. Hmmm it' s just what they say.

My Big Love from Star Cinema

My Big Love from Star Cinema is still showing and if I am not mistaken it's on its 2nd week. I just checked on the new schedule of NCCC Mall Cinema just awhile ago. The movie is predictable, with some scenes shown on the trailer removed, and with my not so favored acting done of Kristine Hermosa. But oh my there were some scenes which really made me laugh along with most of those watching the movie. The last part though was somehow corny. But nevertheless, it can be called a feel good romantic movie anyway. I finally found the five steps to lose weight for Macky (Sam Milby) according to his personal trainer, Aira (Toni Gonzaga).

I have missed it last week and so here I am joining in again in Mommy Yen's Questions of the Week. If you wanna join in the fun in answering these questions just visit here site, click here.

1. What color are your eyes?

>>> Dark brown.

2. Anything pierced?

>>> My ears only :)

3. What was the last thing you ate?

>>> Quezo Real ice cream and chocolate from my sister in UK :)

4. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why?

>>> Pink coz it's girly and it's my favorite color since elementary. :)

5. What is the best advice ever given to you?

>>> Follow your heart's desire but use your brain too.

6. What sport do you hate the most?

>>> UFC and mixed martial arts... I really hate them it's too violent for me.

7. Have you ever been broken hearted?

>>> Before but not with my hubby. :)

8. Do you wish on stars?

>>> I used to do that. But I believe more in God's divine providence.

9. Are you a daredevil?

>>> No, I don't think I wanna go that far.

10. Do you like to walk in the rain?

>>> As much as I want to, I don't wanna get sick either knowing how polluted the water in the air had been for many years now. I'd probably just simulate it under the shower in the bathroom. :)

That was fun mommy Yen! Thanks for the questions this week. Till next week. Happy Wednesday everyone! :)

Concepts for Office Furniture

I was looking around for those that sell office furniture for a chance to know someone who would repair the two damaged computer chairs with broken legs in the office. I wandered into OFConcepts which is a one stop shop for all of your office furniture buying needs. They feature many office furniture choices and manufacturers for every office need and budget. You can search their site, chat online or call their store if you have questions about any of their office desks, office chairs, file cabinets, home office furniture or any of your office furniture needs. They offer free shipping on all of their office furniture.

Weekend Snapshot #10

Weekend Snapshot

Hubby and I had another Food Trip to the Cafe Mediterranean Flavors of the Sun at the Chimes Specialty Store at Governor Sales S., Davao City. Well it is another food trip for us. While waiting for the food we ordered to be served, I took the chance to take a shot at this decor on the wall made of frames placed near each other. Well the food which I featured in my other homes, is not much of my liking as to its taste. Well everyone has preference. But the service was good.

Luxury Bathroom Vanities

I was going through some photos of a luxury home in a magazine and I was really fascinated by exquisite way they decorate their entire house and it is really interesting how their bathroom vanities make the bathroom look like you can sleep and stay there for hours. I found such luxury bathroom vanities at the online store Decor Planet. They do have New York and Philadelphia stores which provide an excellent source of high end bathroom products. But you can always have the convenience to shop online.

USB 2.0 Card Reader

We were at a local store looking for a USB 2.0 card reader because hubby would always bring with him the one we bought a few months ago so whenever I want to download and transfer our photos from the digicam, I have to wait for him to come home. I went online and searched for where I can find the best buy for a USB card reader. Well there are lots of them that you can find online and you can also find on sale items especially at where they are at great discounts.

Weekend Snapshot #9

My Weekend Snapshot is our snapshot of delicious Creamy Lasagna (don't ask me why there is macaroni pasta in there) from Ems Pasta & Rolls located in Jacinto Extension just across Bo's Coffee Club in Torres Street. We went there to try out their lasagna as well as their carbonara as well which I was craving for the last few days. Well have a great WS everyone!
