Portable DVD Player

One last post before I hit the bed. My sister was asking me if I could find for her a portable DVD player online. I told her she can search for one and any other electronics online that she might need but I will still help her. She did not say to whom it is for. It may be for our dad but he wanted something else as far as I know.

Well I won't make this long since I am so sleepy already and it is almost midnight here and in a few hours we have to wake up and attend the last dawn mass or Misa De Gallo. Yes we will be completing our nine days novena dawn mass in a few hours from now. I really have no specific wish. We were actually asking our one year old son CT what his wish is since he also will be completing the nine day novena dawn mass tomorrow. Yes we have been bringing CT with us during the 4:30AM dawn masses since it started last December 16. And he seems to be enjoying it and he sees other young kids in the church too. Night for now and happy holidays!

Another Manic Monday

If you were at a friend’s house for a holiday dinner and you found a dead cockroach in your salad, what would you do?
>> I would be shocked of course and hopefully I have not eaten any of it yet before I saw it. I would definitely call the attention of my friend but in private so that it would not cause a stir.

If you could put anyone you know on Prozac, who would you choose?
>> Someone I knew. I may get depressed at times but I do not think I have a major depressive disorder so as to need that.

How do you feel about public displays of affection?
>> A simple kiss like with married couples and hugs or holding hands would be acceptable but something torrid and more than that should be done somewhere private in my opinion.

I would like to wish everyone happy holidays and I hope you are done with your Christmas shopping and well as for me I still have to look for those which my friend was telling me about.

Mana Davao's Christmas Display

If you happen to be in Davao this Christmas, then you should see the Christmas display at Mana Davao along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City. You won't miss it at night till 12 midnight coz the lights are simply attractive and you would surely notice it when you pass it by unless of course when you close your eyes. It has become a Christmas in Davao attraction and in my opinion a mini park of sorts since people are coming there at night to enjoy the sight and to take souvenir photos.

Here is one of the photos taken there and you can see other photos here: Mana Davao’s Christmas Trees, Decors & Lights.

Simple Food Prep

It has been in hubby and my mind what food we would prepare for Christmas. But since it would just be me, him and CT in the house and we are not really expecting guests except for my PILs on the afternoon of 24th which is tomorrow. So we decided to go for just a simple food preparation. We already bought the ingredients for our white penne salad. Well not actually white since there would be raisins. That is what we have been cooking here if we want some pasta, especially me! It is just easy to prepare and I like the San Remo penne pasta. Then we might just order lasagna from Ems Pasta and Rolls tomorrow that is if we have time to go there tomorrow. We just need to buy seedless grapes and basically that's just it. We might decide to cook the Papat's ham that was given by their company. When we went to GMall yesterday afternoon, they ran out of Purefoods pear shaped ham (which we plan to bring at my parents so that mom can cook it coz he can really cook it deliciously) which is more affordable at around P168 compared to the Purefoods Fiesta ham and other hams sold there including Papat's which cost around P368-P400.

Well I really plan not to over eat this Christmas and New Year but what can I say food is simply too tempting to resist. So the plan may remain just a plan. Opppsss! I really wanted to diet or if not then eat as much as I want but I have to exercise as much as I want or need to burn those calories and fats. I keep on telling myself to diet and even reading those Lipovox reviews is another reminder for me to be determined when I say I wanna go on a diet. Maybe I can start by not eating rice in all my meals. But that would be a crash diet and in this holiday season it is somehow impossible. Maybe I can skip rice at night which may be a good start.

Holidays

How are you these days? Well since this is the holiday season and Christmas is just less than two days away, I expect people to be busy and just do not have much time to blog. If you are going out just like here in Davao, expect traffic in the streets and waiting longer to get a taxi ride in the malls or anywhere. Just like yesterday we were forced to ride the jeep going to Mana Davao with CT with us who we have to tell to cover his mouth and nose because aside from the traffic, there is more air pollution since there are more cars, PUJs and vehicles in the streets at these times.

There are lots of people in the mall and just like yesterday when we went to the grocery to buy ingredients for the salad we will be making for Christmas, the line in the grocery cashier counters are already long when we arrived and people have more stuff in their carts which means it would take more time to wait for your turn to pay. So who says there is a financial crisis? Well there is actually since there are still a lot of people who have cut down on their shopping and grocery budget this year compared last year. Even in the US, this year is the worse for stores since people have cut down in their shopping spree budget this year compared to last year. Stores have extended their store hours just to have more sales and there are more discounts given to shoppers. The recession is at its worse in years and stores continue to lay off workers and worse the stores have to close down due to losses.

Well there is always hope and the holidays are supposed to bring us joy and bliss despite the present financial problems the world may be facing. Remember that Christmas is not about material things for we should remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and not really the gifts we will give and receive. It's Jesus birthday and not ours, right?

Enjoy the blessings that come your way. Life is not all about money and material things. There are far more important things that we need that does not necessarily involves money, like love, presence of our loved ones, laughter, smiles even from strangers that can lighten our day how much more if it comes from our loved ones. As they say, the best things in life are free and indeed this is true but we tend to forget that and ignore that. Well these are just some thoughts of mine.

Again happy holidays!!! I guess the coming year will be a challenge to make ourselves a blessing to other people. What do you think? :)

Have a merry, blissful and peaceful Christmas!!!
More blessings in life for the coming year!!!

Party, Party, Party

Basically it will be party... party... party tomorrow and then Saturday. Tomorrow is hubby's day so even if there is really no party but we surely will be dining out somewhere. Then there is the party in the afternoon for the children's Christmas party and well of course there will be food! Then there will be another party for the children on Saturday in hubby's office and of course there will be food again.

But it is my resolve this Christmas holiday season to control my eating. I know it is within our hands whether we eat all that we see and is offered to us. The financial crisis all around the world is somehow a blessing in disguise don't you think since people tend to shop for food less this season as I assume and its effect is just like a natural fat burner coz you eat and drink less due to budget constraint therefore there is less tendency to gain weight during Christmas.

But then again there are still other kinds of food that we can still afford and still tend to binge on right? With hubby taking the afternoon shift I tend to skip my meals but then again I substitute it with candies in the fridge and I tend to consume not just one pack but more coz I am craving for sweets when I am hungry. Just like now I skipped lunch altogether since we left and I went to the bank with CT while hubby promised to just have his late lunch in the office. Now I am craving for sweets. Tomorrow's party will likely to have sweets too so I should really control. Unless I run a mile each day which is not that feasible.

Exchange Gift

The children here in the apartment and some other kids within the neighborhood will be having their Christmas party tomorrow afternoon. They had picked names of who they have choosen for the exchange gift last week. Well I do not know if they did not really left the name that our dear CT picked well he actually has no choice because he got the name of the only one left to be picked. We are not sure maybe the kids indeed left the name of the kid "A" because he is not among the one they liked most. Anyway kids are kids and am sure we understand and for us it does not really matter who CT picked.

What concerns me now is if we have time to choose a nice gift for "A" since we do not have much time left to go shopping. Hubby has changed his duty sked to the afternoon so that he can join us in the Misa de Gallo every morning. Am happy we have not missed one so far. Anyway, going back to the exchange gift to buy, I am still trying to decide if we will buy "A" a chessboard or a shirt.

Well I hope we can easily choose for him tomorrow so that we have more time to go shopping for other things. It is also hubby's day tomorrow so it was quite a conflict when they also scheduled the kids' Christmas party tomorrow. Maybe we can just make an excuse later in the afternoon that we have another party to go to.

Time To Change

Just like in the line of a shampoo commercial on local TV, "It's time to change" then I think it's time to change our faucet in the bathroom so that we can make use of it since it loose and it often leaks after when you turn it on. I wanted to change it into one of those Hansgrohe bathroom faucet that I saw. It is somehow similar to the kind of sink we have in the kitchen sink. I like the way the water flows out of the faucet and it is just convenient to use in the bathroom sink. I am wondering though if hubby will like it as much as I do and buy it online. Well let's hope he does otherwise I might just have to scout for something just like it in the local hardware stores.

Less Fat

We have been doing a lot of frying when we cook at home since it is more easy and convenient to do. But hubby lately wanted us to do some healthy cooking but still enjoy the food that we are used to having on our table and eating what we want. Well just like the fries we cook for CT which we have to admit is often oily since it is fried and even if we place it on paper towel to absorb the oil there is still more oil inside it. I found this Lean Mean Fryer online yesterday and I just want to try it at home. It knocks out 55% of the fat absorbed during frying so there is less oil, less fat in your fried food. I'm just going to check it out how much and who knows hubby may just get one for us at home.

Words Ending in OW

1. Any day NOW...you answer?
>> I wanna continue to decorate our standing yet almost bare Christmas tree except for the one new Christmas lights we put around it.

2. As far as I KNOW...you answer?
>> I am happy how we are now though life is not that perfect but am still thankful and feel blessed despite the financial crisis around the globe.

3. Speaking of SNOW...you answer?
>> Well we do not have that here and I would have to say it would be difficult to adjust when it does snow in here. We don't have winter clothes and all.

4. I BOW...you answer?
>> I bow and pray to the God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

More here!

Trying to Lose

I am trying to lose weight and am hoping the financial crisis would help me do just that since we have to buy less of the not so necessary food that is on the other hand not so healthy and somehow a factor why I have not lost much weight. Well I weigh a less than compared to that time after I gave birth but I am still trying to lose more weight and I wanna trim down the shape of the middle part of my body. I was somehow thinking of that diet pill Fenterdren which I came across in my search of ways to lose weight. It is said to make you lose more weight compared to others. But on the other hand I am thinking of getting into a daily routine of cardio exercise. I am trying to convince hubby to join me since he needs it too. It crossed my mind too and I have told him that recently what if we try to jog around the parking lot area of the mall nearby every morning or at least on weekends especially Sunday where there are people who exercise there too early in the morning. It might inspire and motivate me more. Plus it would be a fun bonding activity also.

WS: CT's New Soft Ball

We bought CT this small yellow soft ball which I found useful too in exercising my right hand which sometimes become stiff when I do EC dropping. *wink* We bought this along with his new blue Go Diego Go shoes. We hang this in the tree as temporary decoration since it is still bare at this time except for the white .

Asleep at Last

Our CT is asleep at last. He has been sleepy more than two hours ago. We already let him out to play with the neighbor Kuya Tan2x but still he has not gotten that sleepy enough until a few minutes ago where he started to have a little tantrum wanting to get things from the table and grabbing what he can reach. He was smiling when I saw him already up in the dining chair. He was able to manage to go up on his own so fast now. He is really growing up fast. He wanted to drink from the glass in the table just like what we do. We know he is sleepy when he starts doing those little naughty things. It is often a relief when he is able to sleep after being so active. Unlike a few months before it is so easy to tire CT and him sleep. But these days his sleeping pattern changed which means we can do less work online. So it is a relief when our CT is asleep at last so we can do some work here at home.

Limping

Since I woke up, I had been limping slightly since my heel in my right foot is painful again. I usually experience this when I have been walking too long or after walking long and eating. I remember someone mentioned Plantar Fasciitis (painful foot condition in the heel and arch area) to me and I just hope it is not that nor any other disease for which this pain is a symptom of. I guess this is what you get when you have too much - eating, walking and working with not having much rest at all. Hubby experiences this too in his left heel. I often kid him saying we are really partners and we complement each other as he with his left heel while me with my right heel. I just hope this is not gout or something which my former office mate has and he said it is really painful. He could hardly walk when he had an attack before. Now I am just praying ang hoping this is not that serious and just a passing thing due to "getting older" you know.

Again

Again, my partner was almost late again for work. We were letting CT sleep tonight when I got sleepy in CT's room and even before I really dozed off since I was afraid I really will sleep earlier this evening, I told him that he should not sleep anymore and he said yes he won't. But I guess he did doze off too coz when I woke up and saw him sleeping I immediately panicked and woke him up. He got up quickly and my it's almost time for work. I have to call a taxi for him as he has no more time to commute in a PUJ. I have to tell him not to take the attendance for granted even if it is almost the end of the year. I am really praying it won't have any effect on his work performance and evaluation towards the end of the year.

Strained

I sometimes have a hard time reading writings from afar and I often have to strain my eyes to be able to read from a certain distance. Even at the church at times especially when we sit far from the altar and the projector, I could read but could not see the words clearly so I sometimes have to squint my eyes which could strain my eyes when I do it often for long period of time.

My mom used to scold me that I often stay too long in front of the computer and she would remind me often to take a break to relax my eyes. At times I would have a headache from too much reading and looking at the computer and my hubby would tell me that it may be high time to go for a check up coz I probably need to start wearing eyeglasses. Maybe I will think about that and give it a time in our schedule and when I have a budget for that I will go for an eye check up.

Pinoy Fear Factor

The Pinoy Fear Factor premiered last night at ABS-CBN right after I Love Betty La Fea. We slept before that and at around 9:10PM hubby woke me up and asked if I wanna watch Pinoy Fear Factor. So I got up and went to watch it while having a little dinner. It was so and so yet.

The Dose Participantes were intorduced and we got to know a little background about them. I thought it was only Phem Baranda and LJ Moreno who were more known but there was one, Janna Rodriguez used to host Wowowee if I am not mistaken. She is only 18 years old and she has a pretty face. Well the first ever episode is okay. I have yet to see what else is in store for the viewers. The thing I like about this kind of show is the location scenes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America especially when they are shot outside the country.

Dinner for Two

After the afternoon mass, we went home immediately and brought with us the replacement for the helper from the agency. She seems better than the first one they gave us. I just came back from buying viand for our dinner. We decided not to cook anymore and let the help eat what is there in the table and we just eat later on so it will be dinner for two just right here in the house. We decided not to eat out this weekend and save since we will need to pay CT's pedia for his overdue vaccination tomorrow or within this week.

Hubby is still sleeping now when I got back. I had briefed the help of what she must do. I am just waiting for hubby to wake up. He must be relieved that there is a new help in here with us so he slept aside of course that we are not feeling well.

Risky Job

I called my sister this morning and she mentioned that our bro got into an accident while doing his job a few days ago. The last time I heard about him his blood pressure went up. And it went up again since that accident. Good thing he was not harmed as what my sis relayed to me this morning. As for the armored car good thing it has a car insurance. I think the company where he works for would give him a hazard pay considering the risk his job position has now. Either way it is good to be insured and you just got to find the right insurance. We'd never know what will happen to us or to our properties.

Being a Good Sport

1. Were you raised around a lot of sports?
>> When we were young my dad encouraged us to play badminton and table tennis (ping pong) when we were not busy with school. But I am not an athlete myself. Growing up and through the years I really liked watching tennis on TV and following it in the news.

2. What is your favorite sport?
>> Tennis.

3. When did you last play a sport?
>> A few years back - badminton but not as a competitive sport.

4. When did you last attend a professional sporting event and what was it?
>> I cannot remember.

5. What was the last sport you watch on TV?
>> UFC which is actually the least sport I wanna watch as it is just to physically violent for me. I was able to watch parts of it because hubby was watching it.

6. If you have children, do they play the same sports that you did? If not, someday if you have kids, would you like them to?
>> I would like my CT to play a sport that he really likes. So far he likes badminton and basketball as he sees the neighbors' kids playing these sports.

7. Do you think other people care too much about sports?
>> Yeah I guess there are many sports fanatics out there.

8. Do you have the freedom to be as involved in either playing or watching as much sports as you’d like to?
>> I have the freedom yet I just have been so much into blogging and being a SAHM that often times I just cannot find time but if I will it there will be time for it.

9. Who is your favorite sports team?
>> I really do not have a favorite sports team as I usually watch sports that are played not as a team.

Christmas Song to Cheer

These days since Christmas is just more than 55 days to go, I would often listen to the Christmas songs which we have downloaded before, to cheer me up when I feel bored and tired here at home. It often takes my mind off some concerns and things I do not want to think of.

Indeed Christmas is the happiest season in the entire year and I want to look at it more positively especially during these times in life despite the economic crisis around the world. Through the years I have learned to look at Christmas in a less materialistic way. Well before I make this supposedly short post longer. I have to go as we are going to the mall to do some errands.

Bestseller Book in your iPod or MP3

A friend of mine who loves to read good books told me about this site where there are downloadable audio books. She knows I was looking for a copy of Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose which is among the books Oprah Winfrey endorsed in her Book Club. The said book is among thousand of books you can download.

I will try to create an Audible account later. My CT is tugging at me to sleep yet I know he is not as he just wants to play.

WS: Heart Friendly

I encouraged hubby that we make this part of our daily breakfast as it say it is heart friendly Nestle Nesvita oatmeal chocolate 3-in-1. It contains fiber that helps lower cholesterol. That reminds me of the priest in yesterday's afternoon mass which we attended asked if it is love when you always tell your hubby to stop eating foods high in cholesterol? For me eat anything in moderation. So I started to add this to our daily meals so at least there is some thing that would help in case eating not so healthy food can never be avoided.

Friday 5: Where, Oh Where

  1. Where’s your favorite beach? Paradise Island Beach Resort in the Island Garden City of Samal because of their great food there though it takes them so long to serve the food.
  2. Where’s your favorite place to spend money? Restaurants, Pizza houses in short in places where there is food plus in gadgets and electronics store! That reminds me to look for HDMI cables.
  3. Where’s a good place to watch people? In the mall or in the park.
  4. Where’s a good place to be totally alone? In the mountain or anywhere peaceful and there is a good view to see.
  5. Where’s a place outside of work (or school) where you’re likely to run into people from work (or school)? The mall I guess and places or venues where there are events that are of common interest to us.

Three Dads With One Mommy

Three Dads with One Mommy is one of the Koreanovela from ABS-CBN that I try to watch when I can. When we were on vacation about two weeks ago, I was able to watch this more than when I at home. Oatmeal Chocolate 3-in-1

I had a pack of Nestle Nesvita Oatmeal Chocolate 3-in-1 with oats, milk, sugar this morning which we bought at the grocery yesterday afternoon. It is my first time to try this out. It says making it a part of my daily diet gives me a longer feeling of fullness which should stop me from snacking frequently in between meals. Yet I feel hungry now and it is still about an hour to go before lunch. I am focusing myself to lose the fats in my tummy and I have to get back in shape since it is almost two years since I gave birth through CS. Maybe I can give those diet pills a try if I really cannot control my cravings.

Photo Hunt: View from Davao Baywalk and Park

This is a view from the Davao Baywalk and Park which is my entry to this week's Photo Hunt theme. You can see big waves coming to the shore as the weather was not that good the time we were there. It was so windy then and you can come too close to the so-called David's Edge as the waves are quite strong and big water splashes on the sea wall. We cannot risk getting our D60 wet! :)

My other Photo Hunt entry - View of the Island Garden City of Samal from Sta. Ana Wharf Davao City!

Spike It Up

I was trying out the SB800 flash on our D60 when it crossed my mind to take a shot of our CT with his dad giving him a bath in the bathroom last Saturday morning. When he saw me at the door, he smiled and gave me a pose and I took this shot. Happy WS everyone and enjoy the week ahead!

Break Out

It is that time of the month again when I experience break outs in my skin particularly on my face. When I have my monthly thing I am more prone to such break out and I just hope it won't be acne
that I will be seeing in the mirror when I check my face. So far I only have pimples and they are not as many as they used to be when I was still in school. It was probably caused by stress and lack of sleep often when I would stay up late at night to study or sometimes read books and at times watch late night TV then.

But these days it is not as what it was then but I still do have those break out since at this time, I would crave for food such as peanuts that some how causes those break out though not directly responsible. I have to sleep early now to try prevent more break out. It would be a long day for me tomorrow too since hubby will be at work in the afternoon so I hope CT won't stress me out that much. Night everyone! Have a great Sunday!

Unconscious Mutterings

  1. Cut the crap :: stupidity, be serious...

  2. Scent :: perfume, cologne, of a woman...

  3. Vanishing :: ghost, magic, disappearing...

  4. Wetness :: diapers, pads...

  5. Cheap :: affordable, lower quality, bulk...

  6. Badges :: police, authorities...

  7. Puppy :: love, little dog, cuddly...

  8. Problem solver :: friend, great help...

  9. Gambling :: fun, waste of money, risky, vice...

  10. Sophia :: Lauren, fave girl name, my friend's daughter...
Better late than never...

A Spider But No Dogs

CT was quite restless this afternoon after lunch and since he won't sleep, I took him out of the apartment to that part where there is a gate connecting to the owner's house. Hubby and I usually bring CT there when he wants to see the dogs which he implies by saying "aww-aww". But the dogd did not come out. Instead we saw a spider jumping down the wall near the gate there and it was Ct who saw it first. His face brightened when he saw one. I just have to pull him away though because he was trying to reach out to the spider.

When we went inside, I told hubby what if we catch one for CT using those spider traps that do not have poison so that we can put one in a container and CT can see the spider up close without necessarily touching it. When we were young my brother used to catch spiders and place them in match boxes just like what other kids in the neighborshood and even in school do then. But somehow I pity those tiny creatures beng placed in those boxes wanting to get themselves free. Maybe in the next few days when hubby got free time and when he is at home then we can do that.

PLDT Downtime

We experienced our first PLDT downtime this morning at around 8:30AM since we transferred to this apartment last week and since our myDSL internet connection was installed Wednesday last week the morning we moved in here.

Good thing it was only for a short time unlike before in my parent's place when a few days since we got internet we experienced hours of no internet connection and it was quite disappointing to wait for forever since the PLDT customer service just told us that they cannot tell when the service will go back. That was all she said. Couldn't it be a better answer to a customer to say that they are doing the best they can to put us online again rather than that very simple answer "I cannot tell you when it will be back." I guess she was probably tired of all the calls she got from other customers who probably got irritated by the long interrupted internet service. I think the internet service at the old place was not yet stable at that time since it was just made available then at our area. But there must have been other reasons coz the next few days then last year there were interrupted internet service by PLDT that lasted for hours. At least here so far so good. But sometimes my internet connection seems slow at times. I dunno why. But better slow than none at all, right? :)

Saturday 9: Would You Take Them Back

1. Think of all your exes. Would you take any of them back?
>> No way. Past is past. And I am happy to be married now. :)

2. What was the first car you drove? What happened to it?
>> Have not driven a car but I drove a jeep (it's a public utility vehicle here in the Phils.) which we used to have and my dad let me drive that one. It was my first time to drive and I was driving it here and there that my dad had to ask me to stop in the middle of the road. I was still in HS or first year college then.

3. What’s the longest amount of time you have driven a car non-stop?
>> Not a car but a PUV and it lasted only a few minutes.

4. Have you ever been stood up on a date? If yes, when?
>> No.

5. What TV network do you watch the most?
>> ABS-CBN here in the Philippines - obviously a "Kapamilya".

6. Pick out a song you like that has special meaning to you. Share with us what song is it, and what’s the meaning to you.
>> The First Time I Loved Forever by Melanie Safka. It was my wedding march song and I like the message of the song and indeed a beautiful wedding song.

7. Who was your first celebrity crush on?
>> Aga Mulach, a Filipino actor.

8. What is your favorite romantic comedy movie?
>> You've Got Mail.

9. It has been said, "First Loves Are Never Over." Is this true for you?
>> If it refers to first romantic love then I say it does not apply to me. But there are other first loves on other things that this saying may apply on.

Little Plants

For the Thursday Challenge though I am a little late, here are the little PLANTS that grow in my parents backyard. They are often the background of our macro shots of insects and other critters that we see land on top of them. These plants help somehow when the backyard gets a little flooded when it rains to hard.

Now I am off to look for Harley parts which I promised hubby who was helping a friend from the company he works for who was fond of big bikes. Have a great weekend!

The Sink

We moved in last week in an apartment own by a blogger friend's family. The kitchen sink is bigger than what we had in the house. I wanted though to do some washing in the sink in the so-called utility room. If I can have my way, I would have wanted to replace it with a new one just like one of those Moen kitchen sinks so I can do the washing of dishes and washing CT's clothes which I plan to do everyday so they won't accumulate much and makes things easier for me rather than washing all our clothes altogether which takes a long time. So that sink if changed will allow me a more convenient place to wash rather than the one in the kitchen inside the apartment.

Fill-in Time

1. There is no need to worry when you trust in God's divine providence.

2. Where in the heck did the opps go?

3. Pray for more opps is all I managed to do.

4. Prospects for another blog in the making.

5. Do not be idle and work hard is the message.

6. Simplicity and tranquility are two of the best things in life that are free and will make us happy.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to checking on those term life insurance quotes my sis was asking me about, tomorrow my plans include cleaning up some stuff in the cabinet and Sunday, I want to hear mass in the church nearby as last Sunday we went to another church farther away to fetch the priest who blessed our new home!

Have a great day and enjoy the weekend ahead!

Movie Time

I missed having our movie time every Wednesday which we have not done since a few months ago when we will go to our favorite cinema in the mall in our city. But that mall is far from us now and it would take us three rides plus the traffic so in the past few weeks we have contented ourselves with watching movies at home instead. Hubby got copies of some of the latest movies and we would try to watch them when we got free time. I wanted to get one of those home theater sconces which I saw yesterday as I was hopping in the internet.

It looks cool and would give our living room a subtle amount of light plus the elegance of the powder coated finish will give a rich look to your room. On the other hand I would like to use in CT's room for decor and lighting at night as well.

Sky Watch

My Sky Watch entry here was taken while we were still at my parent's home. I get a better and larger view of the sky there when I get out of our front door than in our new apartment where we just moved in last week. I missed that home and my parents too as well as the sky watching I used to do there especially in the morning and late afternoon. Happy Sky Watch everyone! Have a great weekend ahead too!

Job Search

A friend of mine is looking for a job and she is particularly into IT job search. I told her there are a lot of IT jobs that she can search online. There is one of the many which I found that even has career related resources aside from the job postings for IT and also engineering professionals. There are also job search tips where experts share their tips and secrets when it comes to hunting for a job in IT. Well I hope my friend gets the job she really wants in a company that would be a venue for career development and growth. It is hard to stay in a job where you feel it is all routine and where you feel you are not growing and makes you feel dumb. Anyway I gotta go as my CT is searching for me which reminds me of my nanny search too.

Another Manic Monday

What's worse, physical or mental cheating? Why?
>> Both can be but it somehow depends on how much cheating has been done and up to what level.

Do you think men and women can be just friends? Why or why not?
>> Yes I think so. There are platonic relationships that can exist between men and women.

How do you feel about dating co-workers?
>> I have no co-workers for months now since I am a stay at home mom now. But if I was working, I think it would be inappropriate to date co-workers since I am already married. It would totally be unfair for my hubby.

WS: Davao City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte

This photo was taken a few Sundays ago during the Kadayawan Festival 2008 Indak-indak sa Kadalanan (Street Dancing competition) which was held at the Rizal Park and in the stage area we saw our Davao City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte seated with the Hiyas ng Kadayawan 2008 winners (right) and some important guests.

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2

After quite sometime, I was able to watch a little of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 last night. I am quite surprised Bugoy is still there. I remember my niece once told me that Bugoy might have left the academy since she saw him sing at ASAP. But I guess that was just a guesting. I did not see Sen though which made me think that maybe he has left the academy already. Last night, Cris came to the bar where she used to perform and it was obvious she was happy to be back there. My viewing was cut short as i have to put off the TV and let CT sleep.

Fill-in Time

1. I enjoy spending my time with CT and hubby bonding as much as we can these days especially that we have a place of our own.

2. How to manage my growing number of blogs is something I wonder about often lately.

3. In your heart, you knew my CT and hubby love me much.

4. Take 3 scoops of your fave flavor of ice cream and banana split into two, add a little chopped peanuts and you end up with a banana split.

5. Life has gifted me with a loving family in CT and hubby.

6. Going to the mall alone is an instant vacation. :)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to going out to the mall with CT and hubby, tomorrow my plans include washing clothes and Sunday, I want to attend the first mass we will be attending in the nearby church here which is just walking distance!

Sky Watch

This shot of the sky for of my entry for another Sky Watch Friday was taken one lazy afternoon while I was trying to remember where I placed the xbox 360 that my nephew was playing awhile ago before this shot was taken. Since I cannot find it I went out carrying our D60 with me and I looked up and saw these clouds which looked like a group of different going somewhere. Well that is what one boring afternoon can do to your imagination. Imagination that can go wild with whatever one sees such as with these clouds on one hot sunny afternoon. Have a great weekend ahead every one!

Take a Break

We still have some things not yet in their place here in our new home. Yet I need to take a break. So I took some time to blog and be able to take my feet off the ground as yesterday both hubby and I were complaining that our feet hurt and a very good foot massage will be greatly appreciated. We have been standing, walking and doing other stuff the whole day yesterday and days before that as we were still packing our things and other stuff at home. I wanna take a quick trip out of the country if given the chance just like having a Las Vegas travel would be nice and see the place with so much lights and night life. I remember knowing someone who is now based in Las Vegas. But I think yet am not sure though if she has moved to another state as I heard rumors that she was going to live with her aunt in another state. Anyway I have to go and look for my Sky Watch phot entry. Then I have to take a break from blogging and sleep to have my energy back for another day tomorrow.

Moving On

My sis called a few days ago and we were able to talk for awhile. She has long told me of her plans to move and transfer working from UK to the US. Two of her close friends and former co-workers in the hospital here have went to the US a few years ago. She is processing her papers still and looking for a work place she can transfer. I remember a new friend hubby and I met a few months ago worked in Chicago as a nurse. I wonder if he can help my sis in finding nursing jobs in Chicago. A former schoolmate of mine is in Chicago too but I cannot contact her anymore. She probably moved to another place in the US. Her sis is a nurse in the US and maybe we are hoping that they can help my sis. Her sis and mine were schoolmate in the nursing school here. I just hope my sister's plan to move on to the US will come true in the near future.

Sky Watch

Time for another Sky Watch! Have a great weekend every one!

Breathless

Busy as always and I have to catch my breath from going here and there. Today we are oing to clean again and have things to do downtown to transfer our internet connection. Sometimes I feel really tired lately and I think a good portable oxygen concentrator would be great to have in times that I would feel dizzy and need to catch my breath. I am not as young and energetic as I thought I am. Hahaha! Last time I was mopping the floor of the apartment, I had to stop and some how had to take deep breaths as I become breahless. Have to take things easy and one at a time. I am sure we can continue cleaning the place after we transfer there.

Curious as a Cat

1) What would you change about your workplace?
>> I work at home so I just wanna clean up my working table and remove as much mess from it.

2) If, for the good of mankind, you could reverse one scientific discovery, what would you choose?
>> Any weapon that kills innocent people.

3) What is the dumbest thing people do to make themselves better-looking?
>> Undergo plastic surgery and copy celebrities faces. Will that do? :)

4) If you worked with one person with X-ray vision, who would you least like for it to be?
>> That person who is nosy and has the most malicious mind around. He could broadcast what he would see and that is something I would not want to happen.

5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
>> This reminds me of one favorite past time when I was much younger - playing solitaire when my siblings are not around to play card games with me.

McDonalds Bajada Davao

It has been awhile since we have eaten at McDonalds Bajada, a branch here in Davao. This is by far my most favorite branch all over the city. We were there to go to have lunch as we were going to the bank nearby. We ordered two one piece crispy chicken which is my fave among all the fastfoods here.

Yes the bank nearby is open on Sundays which is a good thing but we lined up for one hour and a half to get served. We also have to buy cleaning materials for the house as we were cleaning the apartment we will be moving in this month. The caretaker was supposed to clean it yesterday but he was suddenly not available coz he was washing the clothes of the owner of the apartment. Well it's okay. Hope you had a great weekend!
